

About the Instructor
Deborah is a Brooklyn original. She is a working artist-designer and author of Drawing in Black and White from Quarto Creates Publishing. Her work includes paintings, prints, ceramics, stationery, textiles, rugs, wall art, and mobiles. The work is colorful and energetic and is inspired by nature and the love of gouache, watercolor, and printmaking. She has exhibited in galleries and juried shows. She has been featured in Redbook, HGTV, and Latina magazines. her work is carried by Habitat UK, Minted, West Elm, Target, CarpetVista, Bath and Beyond, and home decor licensing companies.

Curious about linocut, a timeless printmaking technique?
In this hands-on workshop with mixed media artist Deborah Velasquez, you’ll design and carve your own stamp to create unique cards and stationery.
Deborah will introduce essential carving techniques and demonstrate how to turn ideas into carvable designs using her own original work as inspiration. With her guidance, you’ll explore how different tools can create a variety of textures and effects. Then, you’ll put your handmade stamp to use by printing an edition of original linocut cards—perfect for the holiday season.
You’ll leave with a beautiful set of cards and your own custom stamp, ready to use again and again for endless creative projects!
