Jo Lynn Alcorn is an artist working from her home studio in West Hartford, Connecticut. With a background in design and illustration, she originally trained as a printmaker at the Rhode Island School of Design—perhaps where her love for paper first began.
Paper remains her primary medium, a simple yet versatile material she collects, creates with, and transforms. Her technique involves cutting intricate designs, then curling, folding, and shaping them into layered bas-reliefs or fully three-dimensional constructions.
In her professional work, she is often commissioned to create immersive environments that elegantly showcase products—a design challenge she thoroughly enjoys. In her personal work, as in much of her commercial art, she draws inspiration from nature and is currently developing a series based on lichen.
Her impressive client list includes Shanghai Tang, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Saks, Clinique, Origins, Elizabeth Arden, Dior, Essie, DKNY, Giorgio Armani, Anthropologie, Boucheron, and Perrier Jouët.
